Scotland bids for the 2019 Solheim Cup

Just a year after the very successful 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland has reiterated its desire to host another major sporting event by submitting a bid for the 2019 Solheim Cup.

A match played between the best female professional golfers in Europe and the United States attracts huge interest worldwide and it would be another major coup for Gleneagles resort itself and for golf in Scotland.

Many believe that the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles was the best ever staging of the event in its iconic history and Visit Scotland are hoping to use this as a catalyst to help promote the fantastic array of golf courses in Scotland and also Scotland's ability to host major sporting events.
